The review paper by Noriega et al. on the current state of knowledge on the ecosystem services provided by insects received the Most-cited paper Award 2021 of the Ecological Society of Germany, Austria and Switzerland (GfÖ).

This award acknowledges the review paper that published in Basic and Applied Ecology, the journal of the society, during the first three years after its publication (see https://www.gfoe.org/en/baae).

In this paper, published in 2018, we performed a bibliometric analysis on the information and measurement of ecosystem service provision by insects, and discussed the so obtained state-of-the-art among the coauthors. This manuscript was part of Jorge Noriega’s PhD Thesis (see https://jhortal.com/people/).
